The "D" shaped deflection beam is the heart of the Model X force gauge. Constructed from high strength aluminum with higher ranges in alloy steel, the beams are heat treated to develop optimum strength and spring characteristics. The easy-to-read dial may be equipped with an optional shockless dial indicator for tests that involve the sudden application or release of force. A maximum reading pointer is standard for Models X-C and X-ST and is not available with the model XPP. Dial options include: zero position at 12, 3, 6 or 9 o'clock. The X gauges are protected by a baked enamel finish to resist corrosion and rust. All models can sustain overloads up to 30% of capacity without injury to the dial indicator or deflection beam and all capacities feature a 5:1 safety factor. Model X gauges may be mounted horizontally, vertically or flat. Capacities up to 10,000 pounds include carrying case; higher ranges include wooden boxes.
